Christmas ALL YEAR LONG blog hop!

To start at the beginning of the Magnolia-licious hop, please go here ~ if you came from Lauren's blog, you are on the right track =)
I thought that this sounded like such a GREAT idea ~ each month on the 25th we are doing a blog hop featuring a Christmas Magnolia image ~ here's hoping I can stay AHEAD of all the Christmas cards this year =)
So for the first card, I decided to use my favorite Tilda Christmas stamp ~ it is Tilda as Lucia. This is my favorite stamp because my grandfather came over from Sweden with his parents when he was 2 years old ~ and Lucia is a Swedish celebration is an annual festival of medieval origin, observed on the 13th of December. On this day, the darkness is brightened by Saint Lucia, a creature of goodness and light who opens the door to the Christmas season.

Sorry the picture is so dark ~ I take pictures outside and unfortunately it has been stormy here lately ~ but I'm not complaining too loudly because it was 48 (!!!!) degrees here today ~ for the middle of January in West Michigan that is pretty unheard of!
The red berries in her wreath are colored in with a red spica pen to make them sparkle ~ I also used a clear spica pen to add sparkles to Tilda's white dress.

Deets:
Stamp: Tilda as Lucia
DP: BG Eskimo Kisses, DCWV glitter matstack.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, Copics (E00,E18,E13,E17,E19,YR04,R37,G24,B21), Spicas (red, clear)
Embellisments: Doodlebug sugar-coated brad, CTMH pearls, Prima flowers.

Thanks so much for hopping by ~ next swing by Lori's blog and check out her beautiful Christmas card =)

Whimsical Wednesdays

Whimsical Wednesdays posted another sketch for this week =)

And here is my take on the sketch:

I moved the ribbon down below the image so you could see it...otherwise the image and the flowers covered it up...and it is practically a crime (at least in my world ~ ha!) to cover up ribbon! =P

Deets:

Stamp: Maisy Ketto
DP: Autumn Leaves MOD, Bazzill Swissdot cardstock
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, Copics (Y23,E00,B91,E25,E35), Clear spica pen.
Embellishments: Crystal Stickles, misc. ribbon, Kaiser rhinetones, prima flowers.

Makeup 4 The Weekend

The PMS Makeup for the weekend challenge is a sketch!

And I just love this sketch! I have added it to my file of "I like" sketches to pull out when I need some inspiration =)
Here is the card I created using the above sketch:

Deets:

Stamp: Sprout
DP: BG Lemonade
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, Copics (E00,E99,E59,RV23,R20,G14) Spicas (pink, melon, gold, clear).

Make-up for the Weekend

Over on thePMS blog the challenge for the weekend was to make a birthday-themed card. So I got out my favorite (so far!) PMS stamp and got busy. I tried something new...something I hadn't done before...I've seen others do it, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it....and then I tried it ~ and I liked it! =) What in the world am I talking about? I stamped an image on a nestie even though the image was bigger than the nestie, so I picked which part of the image I was going to show =)
Here is my PMS birthday card ~ Wishing you a happy birthday!

Magnolia Stamp Lovers Sketch Challenge

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

This was the first time I've made a 5x7 card (I usually stick with the 4.23x5.5 size) and the first time I've cut out an image (those cutterbee scissors paid for themselves right there! Ha ha). This is one of my favorite Tilda images ~ she reminds me Shirley Temple =)

Pink & Grey!

That is the theme for Cute Cards Thursday
So I thought I'd make another birthday card....figure you can NEVER have too many birthday cards ~ For some reason I always seem to be short on them! And that is NOT a good thing! =P
I thought I'd try a "clean and simple" type card. I've been seeing quite a few "simple" cards and I really like the look of them.

My middle son said that this was his FAVORITE card and he wanted to eat the cupcake (HA! Which is very typical of him, he once told me, "Mommy, I am ALWAYS hungry!" Which that statement in itself makes me afraid (very afraid) of what the teenage years will hold ~ YIKES!)

Deets:

Stamp: Cupcake (From Magnolia...can't find a link for it)
DP: DCWV Sweet stack, DCWV glitter matstack.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics (C-1, E29, RV11, RV34) Spica pens (silver, pink).

Three Clovers and a bit of Whimsy

The Challenge for Three Clovers is "Baby It's Cold Outside" ~which shockingly today I think we got to 38 degrees...practically a heat-wave for mid-Jan! =)
So I paired the Three Clovers theme with the sketch from Whimsical Wednesdays:

And here is my creation =)

I absolutely LOVE this stamp ~ I think he (or she!) is one of the CUTEST little snowmen (or woman) that I have ever seen!
Deets:
Stamp: Frosty with Snowflake
DP: BG Eskimo Kisses
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics (E0000 R37) Spica pens (red, sky blue, black and clear).
Embellishments: Polar White Flowersoft, ultrafine glitter, CTMH rhinestones, misc. tiny ric rak.

Mojo Monday....even thought it is Thursday!

It seems to be my trend lately to actually be ON TIME making a card, but it takes me FOREVER to get it uploaded to my blog!
The sketch for Mojo Monday is this:

So, one of the things I'm going to be working on this year is to be THANKFUL! I'm going to try really hard to get beyond my current, ~I hate life, life sucks ~ mood/mentality and start to heal and be thankful.....yes, definitely easier said than done!
Here is my card! The inside says, "Thank you" =)

Warm Hugs

Here is card 8 of 365! I'm slowly plugging away at my resolution to make 365 cards this year =)

This card was created for a challenge over at SCS. I don't think the picture shows it, but the white berries on the coffee cup are colored in with a clear Spica pen, so they are glittery ~ and the candy cane stripes have been colored with a red Spica pen to make that glittery =)
Details:
Stamp: Minty Coffee
DP: Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly
Ink: Copics (RV11 G17) Spica pens (red and clear)
Embellishments: CTMH charm, misc. snowflake-shaped brad.

Friday Sketchers!

Since it is Friday that means there is a new sketch posted over at Friday Sketchers (YAY!) ~ and this was quite the challenge when it comes to sketches!
I think this is the first card I've made WITHOUT an image on it! I guess that is something NEW for the New Year! =)

There is my take on the sketch.
Details:
Stamp: Daisy Bucket
DP: Fancy Pants Crush, DCWV glitter matstack
Ink: Colorbox Chalk ink in Rouge, red Spica pen
Embellishments: Misc. ribbon, misc. button, Karen Foster's Scrapper's Floss in pink.

Mojo Monday!

Mojo posted their sketch for the week yesterday ~ and shockingly enough I was able to sit down and create a card before too many days passed.

This was a different card for me ~ I usually have images that I color in, so it was a little strange for me to make a card without having to color anything in!

Stamp: Dandelion bunches
DP: Pebbles Inc ~ Make A Wish, Bazzill cardstock
Ink: Memento rich cocoa
Embellishments: rhinestones from Kaiser, misc. ribbon, scalloped circular nestie, icicle stickles, bazzill "just the edge" cardstock.

Just Us Girls

JUGS aka Just Us Girls posted a sketch challenge for this week ~ which just happens to be my favorite kind of challenge =)
Here is my take on the sketch:

I just love this stamp! Stamping Bella came out with some DARLING boy stamps right before Christmas....as a mom of three rambunctious little boys I'm always on the look-out for cute boy-ish stamps =)
Inside of the card says, "Just dropping you a line" which I thought was absolutely too perfect for this image. I had previously purchased that sentiment and was rather puzzled as to watch to use it on.....well I now have the perfect stamp to use with that sentiment =)

Details:
Stamp: Catch of the Day
DP: Pebbles Inc., Bazzill Cardstock
Ink: Copics (E00 E25 E37 E29 C-1 R29 B93 G21 Y11) clear Spica pen, Memento Tuxedo black ink pad
Embellishments: Prima flowers, Kaiser red pearl.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! =)

3 of 365

Here is my third card! I had a lot of fun making this card. I paper pieced Bella's phone (sparkly pink of course!) and her skirt (glittery violet). I made this card for a challenge over at SCS ~ we had to use any combination of the *new* colors for the year released by Pantone (which just happens to be owned by X-Rite...and that just *happens* to be my husband's employer). The colors I used were pink champagne, violet and dried herb.

Details:
Stamp ~ Gossipabella
DP ~ The Sweet Stack and Glitter MatStack by DCWV
Ink ~ Copic markers, Spica pens, Memento Tuxedo black, Palette black, Colorbox rouge ink
Embellishmets ~ Prima flowers and Kaiser purple rhinestone.

Cute Card Thursday and Happy Birthday

Three Clovers Challenge and 365 cards!

Well the old year has gone (and good riddance to it...seriously the.worst.year.ever! for me) and the new one has just begun! So in the grand tradition of New Year's Resolutions (which I usually don't do) I decided to make a "crafty" resolution....what is it? To make 365 cards this year and 50 lay-outs for each of my children ~ right now it seems quite do-able....but we'll see what I think come next December (HA!).
So to start it off, I checked out the challenge at Three Clovers for inspiration for card #1 of my 365 challenge =)
Here is my CELEBRATE card =)

Details:
Stamp: Birthday cake with a STELLA in it and Celebrate
Ink: Copics and Spica pens
Paper: The Sweet Stack and Glitter MatStack by DCWV
