Card Patterns

Card Patterns put up a new sketch on Monday and I finished up my card last night.
I used one of my favorite stamps ~ Women's Delight by Whiff of Joy (isn't this line of stamps so sweet?!?)

Both the image and sentiment are from the Women's Delight line. And the image has been colored with Copics (E00, E25, E33, BG01, R37, Y11) and sparkle was added using Spica pens (Red, Gold & Turquoise). All the DP is Fancy Pants, the flower is a Prima flower and the rhinestone is a misc. rhinestone.
I had to hop on real quick and get this posted before the deadline passed ~ now I have to get back to decorating cakes! I've been baking cakes all morning and now I am to the frosting and assembling stage....we are having a birthday party tomorrow for my youngest two sons, who celebrate birthdays one day apart! (well, three years and one day).
Hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend! Stay cool (if you can!) :o)

In honor of Bella Em's birthday I made a birthday card using Curly Surpriseabella ~ I think she is my favorite birthday bella (shhhh ~ don't tell the other bellas though!)

The sketch is from Friday Sketchers. Curly Surpriseabella has been colored with Copics (G14, E33, E00, RV02) and some sparkle has been added with the Melon Spica pen (I took this picture in direct sunlight hoping to capture the sparkles) ~ The DP is all from 3 Bugs in a Rug Color me Pink line ~ and all three of the gifts have been paper pieced using the same paper :o). The flowers are Prima flowers and the cute little lime green gems (LOVE lime green!) are from Doodlebug.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Now it's time to hop on over to the very talented Dana's blog!

Oh ~ how about a prize?!?!?!?! In addition to the fabulous eye candy, we have decided to hide a prize somewhere along the hop! Stamping Bella Bellarific Friday!

Stamping Bella has listed a new sketch!
This is the other card that I finished up today while hibernating in the coolness of my scrap room, which is in the basement....although once I finish posting this I have to head outside to fill the boys' little pool so they can splash around some.
Sooooo ~ I'd better get a move on it!
Here is the sketch:

Aaaaand my interpretation of it :o)

I took this picture in direct sunlight (because today we have a LOT of sun!) and I was able to capture some of the sparkles in Sake's hair from the black Spica pen :o)
She has been colored with Copics (E00, Y02, BG01) and paper pieced using Baic Grey's Lime Rickey paper. All the DP used is Basic Grey and the patterned paper is from the Lime Rickey Collection. The lime green cardstock is from Bazzill and everything has been distressed using Colorbox Chalk in Rouge.
So there is my summery take on the Stamping Bella sketch :o)
Hope you are enjoying the sunshine and staying cool! :o)

PMS Monday

Over at the Paper Makeup Stamps blog aka PMS blog a new sketch was put up yesterday.
So today since it is a bazillion degrees out (well, maybe that is a *slight* exaggeration ~ it is 92, but FEELS like a bazillion ~ HA!) I decided it would be a good day to hide out in the basement in my scrap room and work on some sketches.
Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

I took a picture in direct sunlight, so you can see the Smooch Accent Ink on her wings :o)
The stamp is Katie and she is colored with Copics (RV02, RV10, RV23, Y11, Y21, G14, E00, C-1) and the glitter is from a silver Spica pen and a pink Spica pen. The DP is all from 3 Bugs in a Rug Color Me Pink line and the rhinestones are from Kaiser.
Thanks for stopping by ~ hope you are staying cool! :o)

It's Mojo Monday Again!

And this time I was able to get the sketch done in a timely manner :o)
Here is the sketch that was posted:

It was definitely a challenge for me because I am used to making the "regular" sized cards, so this required me to think and work outside of my "normal" cardmaking mode.

This is what I did with it. All the DP is from 3 Bugs in a Rug 'Color Me Pink' line ~ the paper is a little wilder than what I normally pick, but I had fun getting it all to work together.
Two of the gifts have been paper pieced using the 3 Bugs DP ~ the image and the sentiment are from Stamping Bella and Curly Surpriseabella has been colored with Copics (RV10, G14, B95, E00, Y21) and a little bling has been added to the green bow thanks to the lime Spica pen :o) The ribbon is misc. ribbon and the pink brad is a Doodlebug sugar covered brad (love 'em!).
Thanks so much for swinging by for a peek :o)

Card Pattern 19

Card Patterns has a new sketch up for this week.
I had a lot of fun with this sketch ~

I got out Tilda and inked her up for a Father's Day card that I will be popping in the mail this week for my dad :o)

Tilda's scarf and one pocket are paper pieced with Autumn Leaves dp ~ actually all the dp I used was from the Autumn Leaves MOD line. She has been colored with Copics (Y21, E25, E57, E37, C-1, B93, B95, RV10, R24) and her wings are painted with Smooch accent ink and given a little sparkle with Star dust Stickles. The ribbon and red heart button are misc. ones I had around my scrap room and I can't remember where the flower-shaped eyelets are from (it has been a LONG time since i last used eyelets!)
Thank you so much for stopping by :o)

Mojo Monday

Mojo Monday once again had a great sketch up ~ you can swing by their blog to have a peek at it as well as to see some amazing cards created by their DT.
Here is my take on their weekly sketch:

I used Sake Ketto from Stamping Bella (isn't she cute?) ~ the sentiment is from Stamping Bella as well. She is inked up with Memento Tuxedo Black (which works fabulously if you use Copics...HIGHLY recommend that ink pad!) and colored with Copics (E00, YR07, G14, E33, B93). The dp is Chatterbox and the cardstock is Bazzill Bling (love the slight shimmer it has).
Thanks so much for taking a peek at my latest creation :o)

I have a CASE of PMS

Don't you just love the title?? LOL! I finished another challenge for the PMS release party. This challenge was to CASE one of the PMS cards on the Splitcoast Stampers forum.
This is the card I CASE'D.

I don't have any PMS stamps yet, so I used Suzette Ketto instead.
Both Suzette and the sentiment are from Stamping Bella. Both are inked with Memento Tuxedo Black and Colorbox Chalk Rouge ink. All the dp paper is Basic Grey Lime Rickey (have I mentioned how much I *love* this collection?) and Suzette has been colored with Copics (RV06, BG01, E00) and paper pieced with BG Lime Rickey paper. The petals on the flowers have been colored with a turquoise Spica pen (so they are sparkly!), the flower is a Prima Flower, the pink rhinestone is from Kaiser, the button is a misc. button that has been tied with Karen Foster's Scrapper's Floss (another product I love).
Sorry the picture is so dark ~ we have been lacking in the sun dept. quite a bit this week :o(
Thanks for stopping by to check out my CASE of PMS :o)

2 Challenges ~ 1 Card

I am not that great at combining more than one challenge into a card ~ I don't know why that is, but it just is! :-P
So I am feeling mighty proud of myself that I was able to squeeze two challenges onto one card :o)
The challenges are paper-pieceing from Three Clovers Thursday Challenge and the Bella Twisted Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers, which was to use a specific sketch and the colors red, white and blue (in honor of Flag Day).
Here is what I came up with ~

I took a picture with and without flash. The stamp I used is Suzette Ketto from Stamping Bella. She is inked in Memento Tuxedo Black and edged with Colorbox Chalk Prussian Blue. She is colored with Copics (R29, B95, E00) and has some sparkle on her flower petals (in her hair) thanks to a red Spica pen.
The dp is Basic Grey and Autumn Leaves (her dress has been paper pieced with AL and the pinwheel was made using AL dp also) and the red cardstock is Bazzill. The bling at the center of her pinwheel is a Kaiser rhinestone. Oh, and the sentiment is also from Stamping Bella. :o)
Thanks for stopping by and having a peek at my latest creation! :o)

Sketch 18

Card Patterns posted a new sketch for the week.

When I saw this sketch I *knew* which stamp I wanted to use!

I got out my Javabellas stamp and inked it up! I had the perfect paper to go with it (Flair Designs)~ it has coffee cups, coffee beans and coffee sayings all over it! And to top it off it is scented with Coffee Scent My Cards ~ so it smells just like the real deal :o)
The image is colored with Copics (E00, YG09, B60, B95, E33, E57, Y11, RVo6, RV23, R29), the dp is Flair Designs, Bazzill and Dream St. (one Bella has been paper pieced with Dream St. paper), flower is Prima and the pink brad in the center is a Doodlebug Dugar coated brad. Bling has been added to the card using Spica pens (yellow, red and silver) and Kaiser rhinestones. The ric rac belonged to my husband's great grandmother :o)
Thanks for stopping by :o)

Bellarific Friday Sketch

Over at Stamping Bella they have the Bellarific Friday Sketch posted. So I took advantage of two of my three boys being gone today and worked on a few different challenges :o)
Without further ado ~

The Sketch ~

My Card ~
I used Lucy Ketto and inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped her on some lovely Neenah paper. She is colored with Copics (G14,E00, Y02), paper pieced using Lime Rickey paper (which is also the dp paper used for this card) and her wings are painted using Smooch accent ink. The sentiment is from Basic Grey and the rhinestone flower is from MAMBI. I highlighted her hair using a black spica pen and her yellow clips in her hair have added sparkle thanks to the lemon spica pen. The ribbon is misc. ribbon from my ribbon bin :o)
I had a blast making this card....probably because it is mostly yellow (my most favorite color) and lime green (another favorite color). :o)

PMS Challenge

Yes, you read correctly ~ PMS challenge....and no it is NOT what you are thinking ~ LOL! Paper Makeup Stamps (aka PMS) had a release party this past weekend and during the party three challenges were posted. So far I have finished one of the three challenges ~ and here it is!

The Sketch

The Card :o)
This is going to be a Father's Day card ~ My husband is giving it to his dad for Father's Day.
I used a Magnolia stamp (Edwin sitting), embellished his wings with Crystal Stickles and colored him with Copics (C-1, B95, B93, Y11, E25, E57, E0000, E00, B60, RV10) and the dp is Dream St.
Now I just need to get the other two challenges done :o)

Mojo Monday (a little late)

Over at Mojo they posted a new sketch on Monday ~ but as you can see I am running a little late.
Here is the sketch for this week:

And here is what I did with it:

The image is a Huggabugg from Stamping Bella and she has been stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored with Copics (E00, R29), her wings were painted with Smooch accent ink and the little black dots were filled in with a black Spica pen (so they sparkle and glitter). The ladybug brad is from Around the Block, the ribbon is misc. ribbon, cardstock is Bazzill and the sentiment if from Basic Grey and the DP is Basic Grey ~ Lime Rickey collection. I have to admit, out of the entire collection of Lime Rickey, this paper was my least favorite and it has taken me quite awhile to find just the *right* image to go with it. But I think the circles on the ribbon and paper work with the little black dots on this Huggabugg.

Puff

Stamping Bella has a new Bellarific Friday Sketch up!

Here is my take on the sketch.

I used Puff (from Stamping Bella) ~ I just love him, he is such a cute dragon!
He was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers (BV00, BV02, G14, G17). The DP is 3 Bugs in a Rug, the cardstock is Bazzill, the sentiment is from Stamping Bella, the rhinestones are from Kaiser and the glitter is from a lavender Spica pen.

Sketch 17

I just finished Sketch 17 for Card Patterns

Here is the sketch (isn't it great?)

And here is what I did with it! I decided to go with a non-pastel route for this card (ever notice how new baby/pregnancy cards are almost always pastel?) ~ I had a ton of fun using lime green (one of my favorite colors) with aqua and pink.
The image is Pregabella from Stamping Bella, the cardstock is Bazzill and the DP is Basic Grey Phoebe. The little pink flower is a Prima flower, the rhinestones are from Kaiser, the sentiment is a CTMH stamp and the ric-rak is from my husband's great grandma (my MIL brought over a bunch of ric-rak and other sewing notions, so I had a blast picking out ones that I'd use).
Pregabella has been colored with Copics ~ BG01, E57, RV06 and E00 and the card has been scented with Oh Baby! from Scent My Cards :o) All I have to do now is write on the card and get it in the mail :o)
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Magnolia-licious DT Sketch for June

Over at Magnolia-licous Highlites they posted the DT sketch for June. It just so happens that I was looking for a nice little sketch for a thank-you card for my eldest son's kindergarten teacher :o) So....I decided to give it a whirl!
Here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

What is used on this card:
BG Phoebe patterned paper, misc. ribbon, Kaiser rhinestones, the image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and distressed around the image with ColorBox Chalk in Rouge. Edwin has been colored with Copics (0, E00, G02, C-1, Y11, E0000, B93, B95, Y21, E37, RV10). I also used Atyou Spica pens to accent the yellow tulips and a thin line on his shoes (I used Lemon for the tulips and turquoise for his shoes).
I wish you could smell the card :o) I found these GREAT card scents called, "Scent My Cards" . After sniffing the scents that I have, my son decided that he liked Pina Colada the best, so we scented this card with that and now all that is left for him to do is write on it and give it to his teacher :o)
